Junior Section Strategy
14 April 2012
In 2010, the PRFC Junior Section undertook an exercise to identify what areas of focus it believes are priorities for the junior section. A group of committee members, junior coaches and parents met to discuss ideas for an overall direction of where the junior section should concentrate its focus for the next 3-5 years.
A strategic goal was defined and a strategy map adopted by the junior committee. In order to achieve the goal of 'becoming the first choice sports club in the Hutt Valley and a leading junior rugby club in New Zealand' we need our whole junior section to understand this strategy.
We are here for all our children.
In our club, we will attempt to ensure that all children have a 'positive rugby experience'
Provide a positive rugby experience for all players by:
- Equal playing time
- Equal opportunity for all players
- Equal starting time for all players
- Equal opportunity to playing multiple positions
Team Selection Policy
Objective: to achieve evenly skilled teams in all grade
Player enjoyment - full participation
Allow all players opportunity for growth
Allow players the opportunity for different styles of coaching
To provide all players with a 'positive rugby experience' that will help them to:
- enjoy their sport
- enjoy and meet new mates
- improve their rugby and life skills
- build their and their families identity within our club
