Honours
Like most other rugby clubs in New Zealand, the Petone Rugby Football Club was built on the back of sweat-equity. Ordinary blokes clearing the land, digging the trenches, laying the foundations, hammering in the nails and painting the walls. In the clubrooms, bar teams, gear stewards, club officials and of course the Ladies Committee providing hot food and a cuppa - you never tangled with them!
So too, on the fields, men and women playing for the pride of the club and with a fire in the belly, creating a long and proud history and an environment where rugby players from all walks of life, are able to achieve and excel at the very highest level.
Those who were selected to represent their province and their country, would be the first to acknowledge the unselfish and unstinting efforts of their mates - those who made it possible for the "stars" to shine.
The following pages are dedicated to the efforts of these unsung heroes.
All Blacks Petone has produced 30 All Blacks.
