PRFC Extends Friendly Welcome to All for 2009

The Petone Rugby Club extends a warm welcome to all players’ administrators and supporters returning for the 2009 season and to all those people new to the area, about to leave school or just looking for a change of scenery.
Petone Rugby offers a warm friendly family environment that encompasses pre school players in our Nursery grades through to our more senior members in the POFF (Petone Old Farts Fraternity) a large group that meets 2 or 3 times a year for dinner usually based around an occasion or team from the past within the PRFC.
Our Junior Club is one of the largest in Wellington and we are fortunate to have a very good group of coaches, many of whom have played senior rugby within our club. Registration days take place in March so keep an eye out on www.petonerugby.com for dates and times.
Our Senior section has a team for everyone from our successful age grade sides the Under 19’s and 21’s through to 85kg restricted grades and Presidents as well as our open grade Premier, Senior and Women’s teams .
Pre season training will start early January but if you have any questions or are keen to commence training prior to that contact one of the following:
Club Captain Wayne Smith 0276177400
Club Coaching Coordinator Dave Pollock 0274501342
Premier Coach Dion Ross 021486735
Academy Manager Allan Hewson 021778815
The Ken Gray Academy is well known around Wellington Rugby and beyond and has produced many notable players over the years.
Ross Filipo and Neemia Tialata are current Petone All Blacks who came through the KGA before going on to be members of the Wellington Academy.
If you wish to apply for the academy give Allan Hewson a call in the first instance.
The facilities at our base at North Park in Petone are second to none with excellent indoor and outdoor training areas as well as modern well heated social areas.
Petone is a club that promotes people, many have gone through our club on to greater things but everyone remains a ‘Villager’.
With our 125th Jubilee coming up in 2010 it’s no better time than now to join one of Wellington and New Zealand’s leading rugby clubs.
The Petone Rugby Football Club inc. AGM is to be held on Monday 24th november 7.30pm.
