PRFC Resigns from Sportsville

Sportsville Update (7 September, 2017)

Following the recent article in the Hutt News the Petone Rugby Club would like to clarify the following:

Petone Rugby club along with Petone Bowling Club and Petone Hockey club have all resigned from Sportsville.

No discussions are ongoing regarding any aspect of Petone Sportsville we have resigned from this organisation.

Petone Rugby club discussions with Hutt City Council are strictly around the renewal of our lease.

There has been no approach or discussions from Sportsville since the announcement of the additional $300,000 provided by Hutt City Council in the annual plan.

The club has held a very successful junior prize giving last weekend and we are planning an enormous celebration for our seniors which include four championship winning teams.

PRFC Resigns From Sportsville

The Management Committee advised the Petone Sportsville Board that, following prolonged and in-depth due diligence, Petone Rugby Football Club has formally resigned from Sportsville and will take no further part in the sports hub proposal. We are not standing still as a club and our strategic direction is under scrutiny right now across many areas including administration, membership, finance, local and international opportunity, the wider community and with other codes (to mention a few.)

There is more to come and we know that many of you have the skills necessary to develop and implement the strategies that will be necessary to take us on into the future and hopefully some/many of you will be prepared to assist.
