Early Wins Set Tone for Season
- March 08, 2010
The 125th Season of the Randwick Meats Petone Rugby Club is well and truly underway after our Academy and Premier teams both completed a successful weekend away in Christchurch. The Premiers beat a Grizz Wyllie North Canterbury selection on Friday night and a strong Burnside team 54-12 on Sunday, while the Ken Gray Academy team ran out 22-0 winners over the Christchurch Club and 22-12 over Burnside.
Back home a large squad had the chance for a hit out against Avalon.
We are still welcoming anyone interested in playing for a Great Club celebrating 125 years of turning young boys and men into leaders of the community.
New players, either school-leavers, newcomers to Wellington, or overseas players looking for a top quality rugby experience. should not go past the Petone RFC.
Teams are available to suit everyone from 3yr olds in our Nursery Grade up to the old guys in the Presidents.
We have a very competitive Women's team and several social teams. All of these teams are looking for extra players. Anyone keen to play should contact Club Captain Glen Tapara on 021904590 or club.captain@petonerugby.com
