Michael Kainga in front with Brad Shields in support
The recent Tui Wellington Rugby Awards with the Petone Rugby Club pleased to announce that Michael Kainga and Bradley Shields were the joint winners of the Ken Comber Memorial Cup Presented to the 2008 Wellington Rugby Academy members who best embrace the Academy philosophy.
This is well deserved for the pair who arrived at Petone direct from Taita College and quickly established themselves as Premier grade players.
Both young men have promising futures ahead of them and posses the ability and size to go to the very top in the game.
Petone Premier and Welington B captain Eugene Smith also went up on stage to recieve the "Team of the Year Award" awarded to the B side who had a succesful season only losing one game and winning the Hurricane Region Development Competition.
